How Has Social Media Affect my Life

Social media is the media for social creatures who are lazy to socialize in their social life. Look back at yourself when you first understand about it. Look how great it was. Is it still great until today? Have you ever thought how it affects your real life?

I had a really good friend whom after I got into Twitter and Facebook, I stopped paying attention to him. Same thing happened with the girl I liked. We used to talk a lot, until the Twitter took over our way of communication, we had less things to talk about in our real life. Finally I think that he and she felt less special for me. It was very mixed feeling at that time, to the girl I liked, I felt so jealous because she talked a lot with another boy in Twitter and to my good friend, he looked angry because I didn’t check him up very often.

As an avid user of Twitter and Facebook, I know that sometimes it is better not to know, but, it feels so great knowing an update about a specific person. I do realize that almost 70 percent of my life spent on social media networks is negative, a ‘time-eater’. I would have to confess that I miss the good old times, where all of us are yearning to each other, and would communicate four-eyes soon, while Twitter was just an index of people whom you might want to talk.

People who love to tell his personal affairs, met with people who want to know people’s personal affairs. That is why twitter is so popular. Problems in life are not for exhibition, unless you are a personal being who wants to be consumed. According to my opinion, in Twitter there is no sharing, instead, it is something called broadcasting.

As to my consolation, social networking has affected me in such a constructive way as well. It has facilitated my communication with my friend who is really out of touch. I’ve also met amazing friends there and found my lost ones, that’s why I love it. It is the Facebook who makes this possible. On the other hand, Twitter helped me in getting updated from quick news.

Keeping up a strong personal relationship is a really good think to do since you can’t live without your friends. But try not to do it in the virtual world. The social media account is not you, it’s just another you. It is just like the robot in surrogates movie, where humans use them for safety reason, and because they are not confidence with themselves.

Unless the world is crazy enough to shut down all social networking sites, I cannot do anything about it since what the world wants is actually, the future and a better communication. That’s why Social medias are somewhat and somehow are definitely developing. However, this is my story, about others, I would love to hear it.
